The Adventures of Agnes

CHAPTER ONE

Agnes Crumplebottom was finally married to her dear, Eric Darling. They had a dream wedding and headed off to a romantic Honeymoon, where they planned on trying to expand their small family. But as it turned out, dreams of hearing the pitter-patter of little feet, quickly vanished as Eric tragically drowned in the hotel's swimming pool. Agnes, the beaming bride became a young widow. She returned home with her dear husband's ashes instead of returning home to decorate the nursery.

Agnes became reclusive. Living in her large, dark, empty house. She wore black and mourned for her love, Eric. She let time slip past.

One day, Agnes didn't have the energy to go to Eric's grave and mourn. She felt this way for several days. Several days, turned to weeks and eventually Agnes felt different. She felt like she needed to get out of the house. She started attending some grief counseling. After two years of counseling, Agnes made the decision, to move forward. She had spent so much time changing herslef inside, it was time to work on her outward appearance. She headed to the center of Sunset Valley with the intent of making herself over.

The transformation was wonderful. Agnes felt rejuvinated. Like she was ready to face the world once more. Getting pampered reminded her of how beautiful and alive she used to feel with Eric.

Agnes also brought out some of her old clothes. They still fit her perfectly. Wearing her favorite evening dress brought tears to her eyes. She couldn't believe she was able to wear this dress again. She bought this dress for her first date with Eric. She also wore it the night he proposed to her. Agnes still longed for Eric Darling, but she knew it was time to move forward. She was sure he would want her to be happy. She slowly started getting back into her life. She spent time reading her books and painting.

Agnes was ready to start living her life again. She started running every morning at dawn. She would head down to the beach to watch the sunrise. She spent morning after morning watch the moon fall behind the ocean and the first sunlight fall across Sunset Valley. Agnes finally made up her mind. She was going to set in motion a plan. A plan she hoped to really change her life around.
